Supporting The Community
We want The Harrow to return to being a valuable part of the Wanborough community and beyond. We hope to achieve this through bringing the inn and its grounds to life through numerous activities and facilities. The Harrow Inn also supports local charity and local individuals.
A Community Shop
The Wanborough community has missed its local shop since the retirement of the owners.
At The Harrow we are fortunate enough to have excess space in the carpark and would like to work with the community to place a shop ‘building’ there.
If you would like to be part of the discussion between the landowners, planning and the community then please get in touch.
We like to suggest a balanced approach to life and, along with copious amounts of amazing wine, beer and food, we like to encourage cycling as a healthy, eco friendly activity. To make The Harrow even more bike friendly we have undercover storage and a free bike wash.
We’ll even open early for group ride coffee and cake if you give us plenty of warning.
Our Together Table
We believe that we are in a fortunate enough position to give back to the community when we can. One of the ways we will be doing this is through our small project aiming to help combat loneliness. To find out more, nominate someone or support the project, check out our dedicated page.
Stroke is one of the UK’s biggest health problems, but it doesn’t have the same profile as cancer, dementia and diabetes. Stroke strikes every five minutes in the UK, and 1.2 million survivors are struggling to cope with the effects of stroke today.
In 2005 Emma suffered a severe stroke losing mobility and sight. Through years of intense physio and care her mobility has almost returned completely.
Now in a position to support the Stroke Association, we would like to support the work they do in any way we can, with your help too.
Mens Mental Health
One of the two current charitable groups we support is Mens Mental Health Swindon. This Swindon campaign has been designed for local men to change the culture of our town and reduce stigma around men’s mental health.
We all have mental health and some days we feel stressed or frustrated, sometimes things get on top of us.
This campaign has been designed to encourage people to ask each other how they really feel.
We will be raising funds through events and donations.
We would like to sponsor a local sports team, either adults or children, for the 2020 summer or the 2020/21 winter season and beyond. Any sport considered but we would like to hear from you.
